MyTimerTab is a handy browser-based timer that lets you set countdowns for any duration or for a specific end time, just like an alarm clock. The unique feature is that the timer continues to run and display the remaining time directly on your browser tab, so you can work on other websites while keeping track of your countdown.
How do I set a timer?
You can set a timer in two easy ways:
Free Duration: Use the input fields or buttons to select any hour, minute, and second combination for your countdown.
End Time (Alarm Clock Mode): Select a specific time of day for the timer to finish. The tool will automatically calculate the duration for you.
Will the timer keep running if I close the page or go to another website?
If you close the tab or browser, the timer will stop. However, if you simply navigate to another tab or website within the same browser window, the timer will continue running in the background. The remaining time will be visible on the MyTimerTab browser tab.
Where is my timer history stored? Is it private?
Yes, it is completely private! Your recent timer durations are stored locally only in your own web browser's storage. This data is never sent to or stored on our servers. It is only used to conveniently show your recent timers for quick re-use.
What happens when the timer ends?
When the countdown reaches zero, the timer will play a sound to alert you. The tab title will also change to "END" to indicate that the time is up. For the sound to work, please ensure your browser is not set to mute tabs.
Can I customize the alert sound?
Not currently. We may consider adding custom sound options in a future update.
Why did my timer history disappear?
Your timer history is saved in your browser's local storage. If you clear your browser's cache and site data, your history will be erased. The history is also specific to the browser and device you are using.
My timer stopped when I closed my laptop. Is this a bug?
No, this is expected behavior. The timer is active only as long as the browser tab is open and running. If you close your laptop or put it to sleep, all browser processes are paused. For long-term timers that need to run independently, please use a dedicated alarm clock or phone app.
Can I use the same theme across all my *Tab tools?
Yes, absolutely! This is a powerful feature we call "Universal Themes."
A theme you create or apply in any of the tools—be it MyClockTab, MyMessageTab, MyTimerTab, or MyStopwatchTab—is automatically available in all the others.
How it works:
Customize your perfect look (background, colors, fonts, etc.) in any one of the tools and save it as a theme.
When you switch to any of the other *Tab tools, simply go to the theme selector, and your saved theme will be there ready to use.
The benefits:
Consistent Experience: Maintain a unified and professional look across all your timer, clock, message, and stopwatch screens.
Save Time: Set up your preferences once, and apply them everywhere with a single click.
Seamless Integration: Whether for a presentation, a workstation, or a public display, your visual identity remains consistent.
This feature ensures that all your *Tab tools work together in perfect harmony.
How can I support the project or provide feedback?
